Bheegi bheegi sadkon pe main
Tera intezaar karun
Dheere dheere dil ki zameen ko
Tere hi naam karun
Khudko main yoon kho doon
Ke phir na kabhi paaun
Haule haule zindagi ko
Ab tere hawaale karun
Sanam re, sanam re
Tu mera sanam hua re
Sanam re, sanam re
Tu mera sanam hua re
Karam re, karam re
Tera mujhpe karam hua re
Sanam re, sanam re
Tu mera sanam hua re
Tere kareeb jo hone laga hoon
To toote saare bharam re
Sanam re, sanam re
Tu mera sanam hua re
Sanam re, sanam re
Tu mera sanam hua re
Baadalon ki tarah hi toh
Tune mujhpe saaya kiya hai
Baarishon ki tarah hi toh
Tune khushiyon se bhigaya hai
Aandhiyon ki tarah hi toh
Tune hosh ko udaaya hai
Mera muqaddar savaraa hai yoon
Naya savera jo laaya hai tu
Tere sang hi bitaane hain mujhko
Mere saare janam re
Sanam re, sanam re (sanam re..)
Tu mera sanam hua re
Sanam re, sanam re (sanam re..)
Tu mera sanam hua re
Karam re, karam re (karam re..)
Tera mujhpe karam hua re
Sanam re, sanam re (sanam re..)
Tu mera sanam hua re
Mere sanam re mera hua re
Tera karam re mujhpe hua ye
Mere sanam re mera hua re
Tera karam re mujhpe hua ye
Arijit Singh
The music industry is still waiting for the next superstar. But it seems like every day brings another promising talent, and there are now so many options that it can be hard to decide what to listen to. One thing is certain though; no matter how good you think he might be, there isn’t much chance of him becoming a household name unless he goes big. And that’s exactly what Arijit Singh did. He went big.
Born in New Delhi, India, Singh grew up listening to Bollywood songs on his parents’ stereo. He began playing guitar at age nine, inspired by his father, who played classical Indian instruments such as sitar and tabla. By the time he turned 15, he had already recorded several albums and performed live shows around the world. In 2001, he moved to London to study sound engineering and production at university, where he met producer Jazzy B and signed with Sony Music India. His debut album, “Aur Main Hoon”, sold over one million copies worldwide and earned him a Grammy nomination.
Singh followed up with three successful albums, including 2005’s “Love Is All We Need”. After the release of his fourth album, “Jai Ho!”, Singh received a call from Justin Timberlake asking him to perform at the 2006 MTV Video Music Awards. Soon afterwards, Singh joined the roster of A&R at Universal Records in Los Angeles. At the same time, he continued recording and performing, releasing his fifth studio album, “Guns & Roses”, in 2008. Singh returned to India in 2009 to record his sixth album, “Awaken My Soul”, which included collaborations with Raghu Dixit, Shreya Ghoshal and KK.
In 2010, Singh won Best Male Vocalist at the Asian Idol awards and released “My Love Story”, his seventh album. He later collaborated with rapper Akon on the single “Chaandni Raat”, which topped the charts in India. Singh released his eighth album, “I Am”, in 2013, which debuted at number one in Australia.
Singh’s ninth studio album, “Waiting For You”, came out in 2016. He followed it up with 2017’s “Tum Hi To Hai”, which reached number five on Billboard’s World Albums chart. This fall, he released “Mann Kehte Hain”, an EP featuring four tracks written and produced by Arijit himself.
Artist Play:lists
In Bollywood, it seems like every few months there’s a new artist who emerges and takes over our hearts. From Farhan Akhtar, Diljit Dosanjh, Arijit Singh and Shashank Vara to Kailash Kher and Harshit Saxena, we’re constantly being introduced to new artists who are changing the game. And while most of us don’t know much about them except for their name, some of these musicians have been making waves in the industry since long ago — and now you can listen to their music too. Artist playlists is a playlist curated by me that features songs by different artists that I think you’ll enjoy. Here’s my list of 10 of the best:
1. Arijit Singh – “Jai Ho” ft. Sukhwinder Singh
This song by Arijit Singh is one of those perfect pop numbers where everything just works. From the catchy hook to the sweet guitar riffs, it’s hard to find anything wrong with this track. In fact, I’d say it’s one of the most addictive songs out there today.
2. Arijit Singh – “Tere Bin” ft. Anupam Roy
I love how Arijit sings this song. There’s something about his voice that makes it sound even better than it already does. He really brings out the emotion in the lyrics here, and the chorus sounds amazing. This is another great example of why Arijit Singh is such a talented singer.
