Keem’s love for rap stemmed from growing up in the Bronx, NY. He watched his aunt burn CDs on her computer and listened to them on her stereo system. He remembers one particular day sitting in her room listening to Kanye West’s 808’s & Heartbreaks. He says it inspired him to start making beats, which led him down the road to becoming a rapper. As a child, he loved hip-hop music, but it wasn’t until he heard Kanye West’s album 808’s & Heartbreaks that he really got into it.
