The inclusion of Black people is critical, but it’s also essential to ensure that it’s done intelligently and thoughtfully. Too frequently, Black Anime characters are portrayed as punchlines or relief when they should be recognized and appreciated for who they truly are. However, certain anime have done an excellent job depicting the Black community with powerful, strong, and lovable characters. Fire Force is a popular anime that follows the adventures of Shinra Kusakabe after he joins Special Fire Force Company 8.
