President-elect Donald Trump has a gross habit of taking credit for the things he had zero involvement in. We’ve seen it throughout his scammy, fraud-riddled career and even saw him recently pat himself on the back for the things that President Barack Obama spent the last 8 years achieving, even though Trump hasn’t even begun his term.
On Monday, Trump royally f*cked up when he took credit for Fiat and Chrysler’s $1 billion expansion in Michigan and Ohio – and got put in his place immediately. Not too far from the time that Trump attacked Meryl Streep for calling him out in her Golden Globes speech, Trump tweeted:
“It’s finally happening – Fiat Chrysler just announced plans to invest $1 BILLION in Michigan and Ohio plants, adding 2,000 jobs. This after Ford said last week that it will expand in Michigan and U.S. instead of building a BILLION dollar plant in Mexico. Thank you Ford and Fiat C!”
My goodness, how much more egotistical and delusional could Trump possibly be? Fortunately, Fiat Chrysler gave Trump a harsh reality check when spokeswoman Jodi Tinson said:
“This plan was in the works back in 2015. This announcement…was just final confirmation.”
Tinson made sure to note that this plan had absolutely NOTHING to do with Trump, and he had zero involvement in the company’s expansion. To make this even more embarrassing for Trump, Ford has also released a statement about its expansion in Michigan – once again reminding America that Trump deserves no credit. Ford CEO Mark Fields put it bluntly when he said:
“We didn’t cut a deal with Trump. We did it for our business.”
And there you have it. Another instance where Trump tried to pretend he was working for America, only to fall flat on his face and humiliate himself in front of the entire world.
